49th Infantry, Second State Color. The 49th was formed in September 1861 and was composed of men from Centre, Clinton, Chester, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Snyder, Juniata, and Perry counties. The second color was presented to the regiment on October 26, 1864, and was carried by Sergeant Henry Entriken. The 49th was mustered out of service in July 1865.

49th Infantry, First State Color. The 49th was formed in September 1861 and was composed of men from Centre, Clinton, Chester, Huntingdon, Mifflin, Snyder, Juniata, and Perry counties. The state color was presented to Colonel William H. Irwin on September 20, 1861 by Governor Curtin. The flag was retired on October 26, 1864 when the regiment received a replacement. The 49th was mustered out of service in July 1865.
